Ali Kazma (b.1971, Istanbul) is a video artist whose works have been exhibited in biennials and art institutions worldwide. Having received his MA degree in 1998 from The New School in New York City, he returned to Istanbul in 2000 where he still resides.

Ali Kazma has participated in biennials including Venice, Istanbul, Sao Paulo, Lyon and Moscow. The Venice Biennial of 2013 featured the solo show of the artist at the Pavilion of Turkey. Among the institutions that have exhibited his works are Musée d’art Contemporaine, Lyon; ARTER, Istanbul; Lenbachhaus, Munich; MAXXI, Rome; Hirshhorn Museum, Washington DC; MEP and Jeu de Paume, Paris.

Reflecting on a multitude of particular situations, Ali Kazma’s work raises fundamental questions about the meaning and significance of contemporary human activity and presence.  

İşleri uluslararası bienallerde ve sanat kurumlarında sergilenen video sanatçısı Ali Kazma (d. 1971, İstanbul) yüksek lisansını 1998’de New York’taki The New School’da tamamladıktan sonra İstanbul’a dönmüştür ve halen İstanbul’da yaşamaktadır.

Ali Kazma, bugüne dek Venedik, İstanbul, Sao Paulo, Lyon bienallerine katılmış, 55. Venedik Bienali’nde Türkiye Pavyonu’unda solo sergisiyle yer almıştır. Eserlerinin sergilendiği kurumlar arasında Musée d’art Contemporaine, Lyon; ARTER, İstanbul; Lenbachhaus, Münih; MAXXI, Roma; Hirshhorn Museum, Washington DC; MEP ve Jeu de Paume, Paris bulunmaktadır. 

Yaşadığımız döneme özgü birçok durumu yansıtan Ali Kazma’nın işleri, güncel insan faaliyetinin ve var oluşunun anlam ve önemine ilişkin temel soruları ortaya koyar.
