“Journeys” at Espace Culturel

“Journeys” at Espace Culturel

Espace Culturel Louis Vuitton inaugurates its new exhibition “Journeys, Wanderings in Contemporary Turkey” on October 10th, 2012. The show includes Hale Tenger and Murat Morova’s works along with a prominent group of contemporary artists from Turkey.

Also exhibited  in 2009 at Galeri Nev Istanbul, Tenger’s installation work is the outcome of a worldly concern, expressing the conflicting nature of progress and civilization contra the ever-damaging earth and its habitants by political entities which turn out to be “Strange Fruits” while positioning the audience in an isolated experience from time.

Morova’s monochromatic polypthic however, may seem to have adopted the miniature tradition of the East, yet puzzles the viewer with its contemporary features such as cranes and water towers in an “untitled” yet familiar landscape.

The exhibition showing also the works of Murat Akagündüz, Halil Altındere, Silva Bingaz, Canan, Gözde İlkin, İhsan Oturmak, Ceren Oykut, Tayfun Serttaş and Ali Taptık will continue until 06.01.2013 at the Espace Culturel.
